THE LODGE AT TORREY PINES® BRINGS FAMILIES TOGETHER WITH SUMMER ACTIVITIES
San Diego's 5-Diamond Luxury Resort Provides Games Indoors and Out for Summer Guests

SAN DIEGO, California (July 2009) - Whether it's badminton on the Arroyo Terrace or a treasure hunt across the exquisite grounds, the activities at The Lodge at Torrey Pines® provide plenty of options to bring families closer together this summer.

With several activities to choose from each day, families who stay this summer can make memories for a lifetime without leaving the 6-acre luxury resort that sits on the 18th green of the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course.

"We love to see a family laugh together as they play water balloon toss on the lawn," said Hotel Manager Bill Friese. "And when the kids and parents collaborate on projects like Lincoln Log building or papier-mâché crafts, they end up with elaborate works of art worthy of a picture for the scrapbook."

Other summer activities include active outdoor sports such as croquet, bocce ball and freeze tag. Or families can take the fun indoors with Wii™ games in the library, embroidery projects and Twister™.

"Our goal is to provide structured activities that bring families together during their vacation," Friese said. "Some of our guests come back year after year as a way to stay close."

Family summer activities last an hour at a time, giving guests ample time to visit other San Diego attractions just minutes from The Lodge. Friese said some guests spend the day at SeaWorld™ or the world-famous San Diego Zoo™ before returning home in the afternoon to work on a puzzle together. Activities are suitable for children 4 and older with parental supervision. Although The Lodge does not provide childcare services, parents can visit the concierge desk to contact a trusted babysitting provider.

One of the most memorable aspects of the meeting for the delegates - specifically food producers - is the opportunity for many to be housed with producers in the Piedmont region of the same type of production, so even while they may not speak the same language, they can exchange traditional knowledge in other ways.

The Lodge at Torrey Pines® is a tribute to the California Craftsman Movement and is modeled after Greene and Greene's famed Gamble and Blacker houses in Pasadena, California, two of the finest examples of early 1900s Craftsman-style architecture. The Lodge features 170 spacious guest rooms, including 8 suites, more than 13,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, a 9,500 square-foot full-service spa and two restaurants serving contemporary California cuisine. The Lodge is adjacent to the Torrey Pines Golf Course and is within walking distance of Torrey Pines State Reserve.
