With its post-and-beam construction,
expansive spaces, respect for the natural landscape and integration
of indoor/outdoor living, The Lodge at Torrey
Pines® pays homage to the California Craftsman style of architecture
of the early 1900s. The Craftsman style was an offshoot of the Arts
& Crafts Movement, itself a response to the Victorian excesses
of ornamentation and patterns, which emphasized clean lines, open
spaces and rough hewn materials.
The Lodge is modeled after the Gamble and Blacker houses in Pasadena,
California, two of the best examples of early 1900s Craftsman-style
architecture by Green & Greene.
Arriving guests are greeted at The Lodge's grand porte-cochère
by doormen attired in kilted Scottish dress. Inside are 170 guest
rooms including 8 suites, more than 13,000 square feet of indoor
meeting and banquet space, a 9,500 square-foot full-service spa
and two restaurants, including A.R. Valentien which serves contemporary
California cuisine, and expansive public rooms with fireplaces,
large mantelpieces, overstuffed couches, comfortable leather chairs
and amazing views of the Torrey Pines Golf Course and the Pacific
Ocean beyond. Behind The Lodge is a heated pool with relaxing poolside
cabanas, whirlpool, croquet lawn, and a large terrace with chaise
lounges for basking in the Southern California sun.

| Design |
Designed with the look and feel of
a residence, The Lodge at Torrey Pines®
authentically reflects the California Craftsman style of architecture,
featuring a natural color palette, graceful wing-like rooflines, shingle
and sandstone-bluff exteriors, clinker-brick masonry, rich Jatoba
woodwork and natural stone surfaces. The Lodge's design complements
the pristine beauty of the area's pines and sandstone formations,
with beam details that echo the windswept Torrey Pines themselves.
World-renowned Craftsman expert Randell L. Makinson of Pasadena's
Gamble House Trust supervised the resort's design team to ensure the
authenticity of The Lodge's Craftsman style. |

| Guest Rooms |
The Lodge at Torrey Pines®
has 170 guest rooms, including eight suites, all generously
sized from 520 square feet to more than 2,000 square feet. Created
with relaxation and comfort in mind, the guest rooms offer lovely
views of the Torrey Pines Golf Course or The Lodge's garden courtyard.
Custom-designed furniture, fabrics and carpets featuring William Morris-style
designs give the rooms an historic yet contemporary feel of elegance
and warmth, further enhanced through appointments such as a granite-topped
bar at each room's entrance, a rich leather chaise lounge by the bed,
Tiffany-style lamps and oil-rubbed bronze fixtures.
All rooms have the high-tech details demanded by today's business
traveler: large workspaces, high-speed Internet access, personal
voicemail, separate data ports, state-of-the-art telecommunications
and room safes large enough to hold laptop computers. Large bathrooms
feature natural slab marble and granite floors and countertops,
deep soaking tubs, and separate water closets. Rooms facing the
golf course have separate marble-paneled stall showers. |

| Suites |
Furnishings throughout the suites embody the Craftsmanship era,
including stylish Stickley pieces in fine wood, fabric and leather,
and all rooms are outfitted with fireplaces and high-tech details
for the business traveler.
- The Blacker Suite is 2,000
sq. ft., including a parlor, private sleeping porches, two-and-a-half
baths, a butler kitchen and two fireplaces. There are two bedrooms:
one king, the other with two queens. The bathrooms have walk-in
showers and deep-soaking Jacuzzi tubs.
- The Thorsen Suite is 800 sq.
ft., with a 400 sq. ft. sleeping porch and king-size bedroom.
There are separate fireplaces in the living room and on the porch,
as well as over the tub in the bathroom. The bathroom is granite
and marble, with a deep-soaking Jacuzzi tub, sofa and walk-in
shower.
Both suites overlook the 18th green of Torrey Pines
Golf course and have sweeping views of the Pacific coast. The
Blacker and Thorsen Suites
can be adjoined into a four-bedroom suite.

| Dining |
The Lodge's signature restaurant, AR Valentien,
features fresh, innovative California cuisine served in a breathtaking
setting overlooking the golf course and Pacific coastline. Executive
Chef Jeff Jackson uses only the best local provisions, and the menu
changes daily depending upon what's offered at local farmers' markets,
as well as from other local growers, ranchers and fishermen. Dishes
are prepared with minimal handling and in simple combinations to
let inherent textures and flavors shine through.
The restaurant's wine list features California wines exclusively,
including a variety of boutique wineries from throughout the state.
AR Valentien takes its name from Albert
Robert Valentien, an early 20th-century Impressionist and one of
San Diego's greatest artists, and features one of the largest collections
of his early works in ceramics, watercolors and oils. Like The Lodge
itself, the 90-seat restaurant is a tribute to Southern California
heritage and Craftsman architecture, as well as an elegant setting
for intimate dining.
Casual diners can enjoy breakfast, lunch and healthful light snacks
at The Grill and The Bar, as well as at The Lodge's two comfortable
lounges.

The Spa at
Torrey Pines |
Guests can take pleasure in more than
9,500 square-feet of spa space at the center of The Lodge's retreat-like
ambiance, with 14 treatment rooms and beauty, massage and signature
services that complement both the peaceful setting as well as guests'
more active pursuits, such as golf and hiking. The Spa has an extensive
menu of massages, facials, rituals, wraps, hydrotherapy, hand and
foot treatments available. It offers facilities for dry saunas, herbal-infused
steam baths, and aromatherapy inhalation. Shower stalls have inlaid-tile
mosaics inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. A cardio/strength room
features a range of state-of-the-art equipment, and fitness classes
such as yoga are conducted outside on the Arroyo Terrace, a grassy
stretch of earth overlooking the golf course and Pacific Ocean. A
grand-scale pool and vanishing-edge whirlpool are available year-round
in the temperate climate, and daily private and group hikes are available
through the Torrey Pines State Reserve. |

From business meetings to weddings to promotional extravaganzas,
all special occasions are well served by over 13,000 square feet
of meeting and banquet space. The Lodge has ten meeting rooms with
capacities from 20 to 350 people, each done up in consistent California
Craftsman style. As such, all meeting rooms are outfitted with windows,
decks and patio space.
The Lodge offers state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment, high-speed
Internet access and a full line of meeting support services in each
of its technologically advanced meeting rooms. The Lodge is also
a premier spot for outdoor weddings held on the Arroyo terrace overlooking
the 18th hole of the Torrey Pines Golf Course and the Pacific Ocean

The Lodge is prominently situated adjacent to the 18th
hole of the world-famous South Course of the Torrey Pines Golf Course,
a Rees Jones beauty that is the site of the Buick Invitational each
February and hosted the U.S. Open in 2008. The 7,607-yard South
Course is open to the public and operated by the independent Torrey
Pines Club Corporation.
The Lodge offers hotel guests preferred tee times and special golf
packages. The golf pro shop, driving range, cart rental and golf
school are also adjacent to The Lodge.

Within walking distance or a short drive from The
Lodge, the breathtaking Torrey Pines State Reserve, one of San Diego's
most beloved natural attractions, offers miles of trails for nature
walks through forests of rare Torrey Pines, sandstone formations and
broad and beautiful Blacks Beach along the Pacific. The Lodge offers
two guided hikes daily.
The property sits on bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean and
is minutes from some of the most pristine beaches for swimming,
walking and bird watching in Southern California. The nearby areas
of La Jolla and Del Mar provide excellent shopping.
The Lodge is located minutes from the famous Del Mar Racetrack,
as well as the sites of La Jolla such as the Stephen Birch Aquarium
and Museum, La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla Playhouse,
and shopping in the boutiques and galleries of Prospect and Girard
Streets. In San Diego, big-city attractions such as world-renowned
Sea World in San Diego, the San Diego Zoo, Museum of Contemporary
Art, Gaslamp District, Old Town and Balboa Park are a mere 20-minute
drive away. |
